About Mutiu Jimoh
Founder & Professional Editor
Mutiu Jimoh is a professional book editor and the founder of Mutiudu & Co. Editorial. He founded this practice because he believes authors deserve editorial partners who read carefully, respond honestly, and understand that a manuscript is more than a document. It is a body of work that someone has committed themselves to creating.
He approaches every manuscript with the same discipline: he reads it on its own terms, understands what it is trying to become, and then offers clear, specific guidance to help it reach its full potential. His feedback is direct and detailed, but it is always in service of the author’s book and never intended to rewrite the work in someone else’s voice.
Beyond editing, Mutiu provides publishing guidance for authors navigating traditional publishing, hybrid publishing models, and serious self-publishing, always keeping the long-term direction of an author’s career in view.
His work includes developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, manuscript evaluation, proofreading, and book formatting. Each service is shaped around the individual needs and ambitions of the author and their work.
He believes good editorial work should give authors a clearer understanding of their manuscript while preserving the voice, intention, and individuality that inspired them to write the book in the first place.
Personal Editorial Commitment
Every manuscript is personally reviewed by Mutiu Jimoh. Editorial work is never outsourced, ensuring every author receives thoughtful, consistent feedback.
“To help authors transform promising manuscripts into stronger, clearer, and more compelling books through professional editorial collaboration that respects the writer behind the writing.”
A manuscript often carries years of the author's life. Editorial work, done well, gives that manuscript the clarity, structure, and precision it needs to reach readers while preserving the qualities that made you write it in the first place.
Each project begins with a careful read on the manuscript's own terms: genre, intent, audience, and voice. Only then do editorial recommendations follow. Nothing is applied by formula.
Strong editing serves the author's intent. It sharpens craft, deepens meaning, and preserves the voice that makes the work theirs. Feedback is direct, but always in service of the book you are trying to write.
Beyond delivering a stronger manuscript, the goal is to leave you a stronger writer, equipped with insight and tools you can carry into the next book, and the one after that.
